2000 tundra starter or battery

2000 tundra starter or battery
I have a 2000 tundra 4.7 liter. V8. Battery expires 6/2011 when I turn key all I am getting is clicking noise, could this be battery instead of starter. Does start after few tries. No dimming of lights. Thanks

Tap starter with hammer. Try to start again. If it starts then starter contacts worn out. Rebuild.

Local auto parts places test batteries for free.

Thanks for the reply. Starter on the Tundra is tough to get to, apparently manifold has to be removed, so tapping would be out. Going to get both checked hope for my billfolds sake its the battery.

You can tap the starter if you get a bar that can get to the center of the manifold.
