Took the Cruiser for a first drive...Tinkham

Took the cruiser for its first off road run after the new front axle (disk brakes! Yeah Baby!). Ran great. The injection worked excellent, but did start hearing the injection pump "singing" to me. May have to change out the pump. Did not drive up the infamous trail to the upper road (no other vehicle to recover with). Ran 2 wheel drive everywhere (still working on front driveshaft)

Why does the fall colors run have to opening weekend of deer season?

So did you swap in a later model front axle with discs or was this a conversion of the existing axle?

This is a complete disk axle from a 79 FJ40. I installed my 4.10 pumpkin into it. I didn't want 3.7 with my 33" tires.

Sounds like a good swap! Nothing like going from drum brakes to disc! Did this with my first car, a 1969 VW beetle. Front discs off a 914 Porsche did wonders for stopping power

FJ40 is on my list of toys, right after I score an FJZ80.
