Steering Box Insert?

I am needing the flare seat for the return line on the steering box. Looks like a mushroom when removed. Anyone know what these are or where I can get one? I need one ASAP. Have a trip planned next week. Sits down inside the steering box. Thanks.

Isn't it cast/machined into the box? I'm trying to picture exactly what you're working on, so I could be way off base...

No it is a small brass piece that inserts into the box. Look like 2 pieces in the lower right hand corner. http://lee-powersteering.com/rebuild-misc.htm Waiting on a call from them. They are the only ones that seem to know anything about them. The piece is what accepts the flare fitting for both your pressure and return lines. It is supposed to be press fit but mine must have been a little loose cause they fall right out.

That's interesting. Is this a factory Toyota box? Or Sag conversion?

Mind if I ask what we are working on?

Factory Box, most people don't know these things are in there. I am doing a power steering conversion on a suzuki samurai. Using the FJ60 box for clearance. Also have toy axles under it so toy steering bolts right up.

I have several FJ60/62 boxes on the shelf. If Lee doesn't have what you are looking for, I could tap one of the fittings out for you to get you going. Give me a call if Lee doesn't have what you need. (619)251-8052.

Thanks.
