Need help with finding oil leak source on 96 I may buy
Just looked at a high mileage (150,000 plus) 96 Cruiser.
Oil on front of sump and it really looks like it may be coming from front seal but I cannot see due to rock guard. Its obviously leaked a while as its back along sump toward t/case.
It may just be what dropped out of the filter on the last change but I would have thought it would have gone by now.
The guy wants very reasonable money and I really need to get back to him soon...anyone got any LC experience ???
Thanks
David

Hey David, For more 80 info, I'd try the dudes over on Mud (80's section). IH8MUD
Sounds to me as if things would be fine, but I'd definitely have it taken in to a good mechanic and have it checked out first. The seller would surely understand that because it is a high mileage vehicle you'd want to be cautious.
BTW: 150K isn't high mileage for that truck. over 250 is high mileage!!!
Does it have lockers?
