engine stutter btwn 1000-2000 rpm
Ok, so I'm not a mechanic, but really need to start working on my rig myself. Here are the facts:
69 FJ40, 74 stock engine (except headers)
After a 100 mile trip yesterday, my truck started doing the following: between about 1000 and 2000 rpm, the engine stutters; feels like running on 5 cyl. Idles fine and at higher rpms, it also uns fine. Where should I start with troubleshooting this?

Do you have a set of need nose plyers? if so start the rig up and one by one remove a wire to see if the engine stumbles or if you see the spark. if so its good, move onto the next until you find that one that is not sparking.

all wires have sparkey...I'm going to replace all plugs and wires (hasn't been done since I got the rig and who knows how long before that) and see what happens and then go from there
And wouldn't you know, not a month after I bring it home with new 5 spd tranny and clutch, I started having problems with the clutch - can't get it outta gear...
