I am looking to buy me a new project Land Cruiser but need help on deciding what year and other misc info to make the best choice. I have always been a 4banger yota man and have decided to branch out but need some good general advice. So, what's the best pre-automatic 4door land cruiser to buy and fix up? thanks,

 

Any of them. Depends on what you want for tranny and power options. I don't think theres much difference over the years.

 

Not looking to build a rock crawler or mud bogger, but a good originally set up rig. What years were better for gas mph? Which are the easiest to work on? Which has the best ride?

Like concerning 4runners, I like my 86 over an 87 b/c its a straight axle, however, it rides a lot ruffer. Some 87's have power accessories, 85's usually didn't. That's the kind of info I'm not familar with concerning the 4dr Land Cruisers.

Cruisers are not particularly easy to work on... and don't expect good fuel economy compared to a honda... Its all relative.
