I am looking at a 97 cruiser that looks like a good deal, however I never really had much interest in these vehicles only because of the full time 4wd. Has anyone succesfully swapped in a selectable transfer case (2wd,4H,n,4L) and manual hubs?

 

Ok so event though I have been looking at this for a while now, right after I asked this question I found this place Marks 4wd Adaptors in Australia, they sell a kit that includes manual hubs and a replacement for the coupler in the transfer case.

 

Did you look thru ih8mud.com? Good info in there aboot LC's

 

I have looked over there, this is a very tough decision because of the fact that they get such terrible mpg. I have another cummins laying around that I could always swap in just dont know if its worth it.

 

Anything come of this? Thinking about a part time system myself.
