I'm looking for some front and rear 4.88s. 94 runner, 22re, 5spd. Does Aussie make a locker for the rear 4.88?(JW) I see Aussie wasn't one of your options up top.
Cheers

We don't ever recommend welded diffs, but the gears should be fine to swap out.

Thanks for your response scotty ;-) I figure that my new gear set would be ok, i just wanted to make sure just cuz this will be my 1st time putting lower axle gears. I would install a better locker but i cant afford it seeing that lockers are anywhere from 900 to 1200 bucks. mabey someday! my new gear set is 5.29s i hope all goes well!

$900-$1200????

Only ARBs are that much. Spartans, Lockrights, Yukon Grizzly Locker, etc are MUCH cheaper than that. IN fact, you would be better off running a spool for $149.

Just my $.02

Also, if you have never set up gear before, then make sure you have the proper tools to do it. Toyota gears are EXTREMELY sensitive to proper setup and should be left to those guys who have a lot of experience doing them. They are not for a first timer.

I really do appreciate your help. I think i will do a spool.
I have heard that a welded locker has its pros and cons. I have been welded for 4 years and i have 35s and have not had a problem. I guess its just my luck.
O for sure iam having my new gears installed by a professional that knows what he is doing
