Shocks

Got my yota looked at today, nothing major wrong with it, got a few leaks here and there and I'm gonna need shocks eventually.

I have a 93 2wd pickup, and I was wondering what are some good shocks out there for a reasonable price? I knew I was going to need some anyways, so I might aswell fix it now while I have some money.

I also had some Volution universal rims I got for free, and one was bent. I was excited because at first they thought it wasn't bad enough to where they couldn't fix it. I was gonna sand em down and paint them black. But after I got them balanced today the one was just too bad. Sucks, now I'm looking for some cool looking rims for a fairly cheap price. But thats life!

Anyways, thanks for all the help on the shocks guys!

For street use with some mild off road I would go with bilsteins or adjustable ranchos.

Medium off road stuff or high speed, bilsteins hold up better.

Hardcore offroad, rebuildable shocks like fox, King etc. I'm sure others are out there that compare to rancho and bilstein but these are the brands I have experience with and trust.

Monroe Sensa-trac or Monro-matic. $40-$60 a piece from ( I think) NAPA. Or could be CarQuest.

I run bilsteins up front and procomp ES9000 gas in the rear. Neither have failed or had issues, however I have had to replace the rubbers in the Bilsteins up front !

I was waiting for Bilstein to release a long travel model to run in the rear and the cheap procomp was a temporary solution, but 10 years down the track the procomp gas have never missed a beat so they remain unreplaced !!! They came with a lifetime guarantee if they stayed on the same vehicle & looks like that is going to be a safe bet for them. I've recommended them to heaps of friends who have purchased and all are happy - so price them along with the bilsteins as they are a worthy contender.

Make sure you price the procomp GAS model - for some reason the oil ones don't fare so well, but the gas has no issues as far as I'm aware.
