First post! Late to the party here but here she is...
My '94 22RE 2wd Pickup DLX totally stock. Getting a lil' moon dust on the tires camping out at Arroyo Trapiado Mud Caves.
Loving life with this truck. It was my grandfather's who recently passed away. I'm so happy I was able to purchase this from him before he passed. The truck is in awesome shape with only 26k original miles when I bought it about a year ago. All of it's life garaged or towed behind an RV. My wife and I took our honeymoon in this truck camping along Hwy 1 and the 101 all up and down the California Coast. Just awesome with the perfectly matched Snugtop ready to set camp anywhere.
Camping in the Humboldt Redwoods. Truck had just rolled 30k on the odometer that day.
I replaced the shocks and the spark plugs/distributor cap- thats it! Runs and handles like a champ. Now looking to bring the butt up with an add a leaf kit. Eventually I'll do a modest front lift with some ball joint spacers.
We now have our sights on Baja California Mexico and just recently did a trip down to Ensenada to feel it out.
Killer camp spot in Baja in between Rosarito and Ensenada.
Im stoked to join the Yotatech forums and have already drawn inspiration for this truck's future. I just refurbished an OEM roof rack off a '97 4Runner and it's looking pretty sweet. I just have to work on some mounting hardware for the shell.
Pickin' n Pullin' $30 for the complete rack- not the prettiest but no structural problems. As a bonus I found some speaker housings from two other wrecked 4runners which made my dash speakers sound a little less like tin cans.
Mocking it up and looks like a good fit. Just needs a little cosmetic love.
Oh yeeeeah! Really stoked with the result. A little elbow grease with some steel wool and about half a can of bed liner.
Topped it off with some Yakima SUP pads $25. Not too shabby.
1995 2WD regular cab, DLX trim, small engine. The interior & engine are super clean. I bought it in August 2016. The previous owner put on new wheels & tires with a 6 inch lift. New seat cover & carpeting.
Upgrade plans: new radio, fix power steering, get bridger dash & dome lights.
Also: where should I be looking if I want to get a topper/camper for this thing? I can't find anything from the big brands, I guess it's too old. Do I have to go custom, or scrounge from scrap yards?
