1980 Toyota pickup 2wd 5 speed
New to the group and just want to say I am a huge Toyota fan and enthusiast. I just picked up an 80 Toyota pick up 2wd and it’s needing transmission work. I’m trying to figure out what the tranny is and need help. Could anybody help me figure out what it is so I can buy parts for it. Also when trying to shift into 5th gear it’s kinda hard to find, and hard to get it in. Is that cause it needs a new clutch or needs rebuilt? Thanks and appreciate it!

Or if you posted a couple of pictures we could probable ID it. According to MC its an L43, but who knows if something else was swapped in

Ok well I found the plate that’s inside of the engine bay and it’s a l43, but I not sure if it’s ever been swapped or not? I’m sure it still a l43? But do you know where to find a cheaper clutch? I’d like to get the MC clutch but to much for me
