been shooting reloads in glocks for about 12-13 years with only one glock-a-boom, my fault. loaded max loads and did not have the redding die then.

factory ammo is certainly preferred but if you use Redding's push thru sizing die and don't load to the max, you will be just fine and they function perfect.

shooting Rainier ballistics 165gn HP's with some Clays behind it, took a deer with it last year, impressive tissue damage with relatively light loads.

unless you are careful and have the desire to reload, just stay with factory ammo and you will have no worries, these things will munch any type of ammo you give 'em. 1911 is just as good with ball ammo but gets finnicky with hollow points sometimes.

aftermarket barrels are out there too to eliminate the reload issue but you sacrifice some reliability I think.
