I cant wait till i win the lottery, im gonna own soo many guns! My house is going to have secret compartments and tunnels where the walls will be covered with weapons!!!
My uncle here in AZ just built a custom home with a "secret" air-conditioned gun room. It is really trick. The small room contains a verticle locking rifle closet (2), and a really trick 6-drawer handgun/supply internal-locking system below the rifle storage. Oh, and he probably has around 50 guns.

Back to the OP, I think Bob has the right idea. Which fits best in your hand? Probably means trying them all on for size. Ideally, You'd be firing them all, but that probably won't happen.

Personally, I'm running a G19. Multiple full-cap mags. Some with +2s, some w/o. Finally picked up a 33rounder as well. I may be taking my trijicons off for more of a target type site. We'll see. Favourite upgrade was the M3 tactical light.

I have all three, and have found the 17 & 26 to be the most comfortable; the 19 grips seem to be a little small for my hand. I use the 26 for my daily carry piece, sometimes the 19 for open carry/ rotation of carry piece.

I'm actually selling both the 17 & 19, but I have them with me in denver right now. If interested, search for my For Sale thread. I'll be back in VA probably in late Feb./ early March for our house closing, and can do a FTF transaction then if desired. The 91 is nice, less then 500 rounds through it and night sights!

I'd like to get $500 for it since I just bought it in Oct. for $520 and it has the night sights, Pachmyr rubber grip and 3 mags. But as usual, I'm flexible!

I've got a G36 and love it... super slim, easy to shoot, and it's 45 Cal.

I have also been looking into a Glock. Here is a two out of my collection

The one on the left is a KEL-TEC with a .40cal conversion (sights removed) It was origanaly a 9mm but it has jamming issues. the one on the right is a .38 cal snub nose S&W

Have you shot a Glock before? They are a fine gun, but I don't shoot them as well as other guns - I think it has to do with the trigger. If you go with a subcompact (or even a compact if you have big hands) be sure to get the clip extension which gives you somewhere to put your pinky finger....Very strange without it.

I would recommend you go to a range and rent some of the different models to see which works best for you, and not be locked into a certain brand/model. You're talking about quite a bit of money and literally a life/death situation - be sure to get the one that works best FOR YOU.

BTW - I wholeheartily agree with your opinion of "application". Everything possible should be done to avoid it coming to firing, but when it does you must shoot to kill and continue until you are sure they are dead. Period. Every shot must meet its mark - better to get 10 hits with a .22 than 2 hits and 5 misses wth a .45.

Of all the guns I own, my 23 is my daily "go to". It's in the console as I speak, er, type. I stepped up from a 9mm Ruger to the 40 cal. Glock 23. We all know the 45 vs. 40 vs. 9mm debate, so I won't get into that.

I have pretty big hands, so the 23 fits me pretty good. Concealment (where legal/with permit) isn't much different between that and the subcompacts (1/2 inch barrel, 1/2 inch handle difference). Honestly, 40 cal. is plenty for me to hold onto in the 23, I can't imagine in the subcompact (27) or a 357 Sig- Others have no issues with it.

There are many great guns listed in this discussion (and even fueled the fire for me to do some shopping!). I need to start shooting again!

Let us know what you decide.

I ended up buying that Steyr M40. Great gun, but accessories are difficult to find. I'm now in the market for a CC piece and have my eye on the Springfield XD40 subcompact. The Glock 27 was nice, too, but I handled the XD40 better -- I rented both at the range and both had the entender for the clip. I also shot both without the extender and prefered the XD40.

The wild card in this mix for me is the Glock 23. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it may be small enough for me to consider it as a CC gun with nearly all the benefits of a full-sized.

So what did you end up going with? Still deliberating?

Ed

Hi Ed- My Concealed Carry license expired :pat: but, when I carried I had no problem with concealment or comfort with the 23. I'm 6 feet even/180 lbs/ 32 inch waist (I state that because stature effects concealment/comfort). High capacity mags (Glock factory ~$25, flush with handle bottom) bring it to 12+1.

It fits nicely in my Runner's console.

I love my 19, had it for 5 years now, prob 2000+ rds. Never one jam. If I can't stop someone with 10+1 JHP, then I deserve what I get.
