I dont know if anyone has seen this truck before, but its nice. Here is a picture of it if you dont click the link.

Eh sorry i just realized it was 85 pickups, but this one is 2wd and its going to be pushing some horsepower, sorry again didnt realize this wasnt about all 2wd toyota pickups.

so dropped in the "mock up" engine , and tranny .
as suspected .. I have to cut the firewall . this is all going to work out great .. now with cutting the firewall , I have to move the pedals , and with that the seats .. which actually works out excellent .. the tranny shifter is now *exactly where it should be .. nice , I'm stoked .

also added the exhaust manifold , and turbo .. to see how much modification on the down pipe i would have to do .. just SICK .. I dont think I have to do any .. it fits the crossmember , and "new" firewall excellent ..

so now with the steering removed .. again .. I have now started on the firewall . first thing to do is remove all the stock mounts .

that done , in order to keep it somewhat "street legle" I need to have wipers .. so I'm working on the passenger corner , trying to get the wiper motor into the cowl , and hidden from the engine bay ...

little bit more today ...
made mount plate for the wiper motor .. so it will now be hidden inside the cowl .. I still need to cut the opening in the top of the cowl plate for access and mounting/removal , but pretty much done .

cutting some steel from a template

Tacking it into place

and finally finished filling , filing , sanding , grinding ..

As a pure blood 4wd kid, I can appreciate the work going into this truck. I'm stoked for the motor. Are you going to have any revealing badging or crazy exhaust? I think a sleeper would be awesome.

You betcha. So when you pull up to the line, people think they've got this one in the bag. They stop thinking that once they get a good look at your backend.

so now with the mock up engine in it's place , and before I start on the firewall .. I have to locate the brake booster , so I can locate the pedals .
putting the brake booster in its place , will locate the pedals .

so now I need to make a bracket to hold them in place .

so now with the pedals and bracket bolted to the bracket bracket welded to the cowl .. I can start on the firewall

with the steering back in position

and just how I'm going to fit
