Last year I restored my 1989 Toyota Pick-up. The seat was re-upholstered by a well-known company in Santa Monica--they did terrific work, but the fabric faded inside of two months, had to be replaced (no charge) and now, a little over a year later, the fabric has faded again.

What's strange is HOW it faded: part of the original blue is till there, but the "underfabric" has faded to a greenish-yellow. (see attached photo)

I'm a little perplexed why a car upholstery place would offer anything that wasn't as sun-resistant as factory fabric.

Anyone have any recommendations for local shops that do this or tips on what kind of fabric to ask for?
