I did take the throttle body spacer off, but I have plans to run water meth so that will make for a great place to plumb the injectors in.

So I know probably a few of you will find this mildly wrong, if not inconceivable, but the truck does get raced from time to time on the drag strip. It's not the best for it, but its fun. We go down with a few regular racrers at least two to three times a year. The one guaranteed trip is opening weekend at Bandimere speedway in Morrison, Colorado. We always spend the night theorist before opening day, hanging out with the kids who run the junior dragsters and having fun in the pits. Then, Saturday, we race!

Like I said, the truck has never been good for this. It started near bone stock, aside from a cone filter. That netted it a 18.6 at 70ish mph. The truck eventually came down to a 18.0 at around 72-74ish. Then the lift and all the other little odds and ends, it slowed down to a best of 18.5.

With the supercharger, the truck woke up. Considerably. It was awesome. I was expecting to at least get back down to the low 18 high 17s. Soooooo...on the right under #21...

First run ever on the supercharger! Nothing other than the charger. I plan on eventual URD fuel upgrades and maybe water meth, but the above run was charge only.

Well yes and no...bandimere is a 5800 ft above sea level so for up here yes, but it would be sooooooo much better down low at close too sea level lol

So I haven't updated in a little while, so ill compress everything into one, so here goes.

In early may, I put about a 4 inch gash in the sidewall of my right front tire. Since the rest are below half tread, and discount said they'd give me a little for each tire I traded in, I took off my Duratracs and D window wheels and put on a set of tundra steels with a set of take off BF Goodrich rugged terrains Iin the 265/70R16 variety. I used to run this same setup so I'm pretty happy with how it rides on the street, but wheeling is kinda out of the question.

The supercharger has been great. I've put about 4k on it so far and the truck seems to love it, but I really need the fuel. I didn't realize how bad the pinging was with these chargers, but now I do lol.

That gets us up to today. Picked up some goodies at work. First scored a diamond plate tool box out of a used truck for fifty bucks. Good enough to keep a hi lift and recovery straps dry, so bingo. Then, in the corner of the pic, you can see the other one. A few months back, another tech did a motor in a 99 4runner. Our parts department thought Toyota would call the block back as a core, but yesterday they told me I could have it, so we have a possible rebuild able block!

So the latest to get added to the truck is an anniversary present from my amazing girlfriend. She got a purse, I got a pulley!!!

She picked up a URD 2.2 pulley and a walbro 190 fuel pump for me, which I finally had a chance to install today. Totally worth it. Since I'm at altitude, I was only seeing 5.5-6 lbs of boost at wide open, and would feel alittle bit of pinging at 4200 rpm and up. With the new pulley, I'm seeing a solid 8 lbs, and no more pinging! So happy! I really wish I would have at least done the pump when I did the charger, but oh well. Better late than never.

Also, I finally got my Duratracs back on. So happy with them...again...

So apparently, my brother and I know each other better than we thought. We ended up getting each other the same thing for Christmas. B.A.M.F. LSPV extension brackets. I had a Toytec extension bracket on there, but, as you'll see from the pictures, it's not very stout.

Here's the old Toytec bracket that I took off the truck:

When I put it on, it was actually straight. In the last year or so, the truck has been kinda diving on heavy braking. I thought this was just because of the better rotors I put on the front.

With it in this position, I already noticed better braking. The truck seems less squirmy on heavy braking. I'll fine tune it over the next few weeks.

A friend of mine needed to clean out his garage, and had a whole bunch of extra Toyota parts, including a set of gears and set up kits for his totaled Tacoma. I picked the whole bunch up for $100, and gave the front gears to my brother. Now, I just need to throw them in and find a front 4.56 to match.

So to get the proper fuel and eliminate the pinging you need, injectors, fuel pump, different pulley?

How are those brakes? I need them.. especially if I end up with 35s and the SC

Oh I got a set of stubbs HD SKOs, they are great. Havnt used them yet but I like them.

The stock injectors on a 3.4 are pretty well matched for a N/A truck, but supercharging puts them at their limit. The truck has a tendency to lean out at high rpms/high boost and low rpm/high boost. Couple that with a smaller pulley for more boost, and the problem compounds itself. Gadget from URD explains it pretty well on his page. I took the smaller pulley off after about a month because I felt it was doing more harm than good. I'll throw it back on when I get the fuel.

The brakes are awesome. I noticed the biggest gain from them when towing.

And I haven't gotten a chance to really try the sliders yet other than changin a flat, but I hope to this summer. I gotta rebuild the front suspension before I take it out on the trail next summer.

250000 Yota is right, With out the correct fuel management and a non-tunable computer I would stay on a skinny pedal for my of the time.

I mentioned that the next step was the 7th injector, but I came up on a deal I couldn't pass. A friend from work was storing parts for his '86 4runner at a friends house, when his friend recieved an eviction notice. This friend happened to have a set of 4.56 gears for a Tacoma that he used to have, and due to the eviction, he was in a fire sale mood. My brother and I split the difference, and gave him $100 for the set. 4.56 front and rear gears for a non elocker Tacoma, with set up kits. I took the rear, he took the front.

Obviously mine is a little easier to set up, so I pulled my 3rd member with my limited slip, put my stock open in, and se the limited slip aside to regear at my leisure and search for a factory 7.5 IFS 4.56. The last two days have been pretty slow at work, so I took the opportunity to set them up.

I didn't bother taking pictures of setting up the gears. I figure if ya'll wanna see photos of setting up gears, you can go read through Zuk's endless page of regear write ups on his website, http://gearinstalls.com. Great source for information for someone who has never set up gears on their own.

The biggest PITA of the whole operation was setting up the solid pinion spacer I got from east coast hear supply. Honestly, if I had to do it again, I'd save my self the $50 and headache and just do a crush sleeve, but since I had it, I struggled through it and got it done. Now, to just fined a 4.56 to match.

Yes, I do have Toytec ball joint spacers on the front.

On another note, just ordered the 7th injector kit! Took long enough but with a baby, money has been channeled in other directions.
