Wanna see even crazier... Just think if the timing is off a bit more at about 1:10 into this video. The roads aren't closed during the race and this dude's on a bike!

I doubt it. I personally raced the 250 in a truck in '02 and the 250 and 500 on bikes in '03. I'd rather go spectate then race it. Way too sketchy down there for my racing tastes. I love it down there but racing is crazy enough without the baja element imo. Not to mention the cost or racing baja is insane! We could probably do a whole planned season up here for the cost of racing just the baja 500 if you really want to do it right.

This year, have fun, finish and have fun. Next year maybe go fast.

Is this your circle track car on a logging road?

The camera didn't get any use this weekend but the garage did. I'll probably get pictures tonight or tomorrow night though.

What did we achieve? Let's see... It's back on the ground again with the one oops rear leaf spring fixed up. U-bolt issue I wasn't happy with is fixed. Rear shocks mounts are finished up and shocks installed. Fuel filler and fuel vent line installed and routed. Wiring is 100% done except I need to hook up sending units for the gauges. Wires are pulled to where they need to be but need to find some fitting adaptors to get the sending units installed still. Main battery switch is installed and battery cables are hooked up. Dash is installed and everything on it has been tested and either works or will be working once sending units are installed. And last but FAR from least, I finally have a pretty good feeling brake pedal!!!

Tonight front coilovers are coming off to check valving and change fluids. I'm also hoping to get the interior 100% installed and buttoned up with everything working. Maybe finish installing shocks but that depends on what valving is in the coilovers and if I need to get valves or not. If so, should button up the shocks tomorrow night.

"hey man, was there a tree there?"

"yeah but it was a small one"

"well it's not there no more"

HAHAHAHAH!!!

And yeah, knocking out quite a bit! On schedule to have it at the exhaust shop friday, get it back Sat, do all the last minute wire tieing upping and fluid checks. Take it around the block a few times to check for any obvious issues and if all goes well we'll haul it out on Sunday to the dirt and bounce it off some bumps and rocks and see how it all works out.

Ummm, what's new? Well, let's see...

Added a bit more to the rear shock mounts and made some previsions to put gas in the hooptie...

Thanks to a friend in town over the weekend the rear window somewhat disappeared. Well actually it disappeared before he got here but he cleaned up my ugliness quite a bit. More body work should be going down on it tomorrow night.

Got some glowing things on the front end...

Found something to sit in and some straps to hopefully keep us in it.

And for the first time, this is pretty much the finished product in the cab with exception of the door panels. Those may or may not happen before race day. Pretty low on the priorities but eventually the doors will look a bit nicer when all said and done. For now the blinged out dash will have to do.

Caught a pretty major oops last night that was not a big deal since I caught it before hand. Took about 20 minutes to fix. Got the oil pressure sending unit installed and hooked up along with the trans temp stuff. Still need to install and hook up the water temp sending unit though which will likely be a Sat job, or maybe tomorrow night. Got started on more body work last night thanks to a coworker swinging by. Got some wires tied up and ready to go. Routed the intercom cables which are what's seen on the floor board in the picture directly above and also got the pumper hoses for the helmets routed too. Messed around with the rear of the truck a bit and just knocked out a lot of the smaller "to do" type things last night.

This afternoon it's getting loaded up on a trailer and heading off for exhaust work. Hoping to have it back tomorrow night. Sat I need to align it, check fluids, tie up some more wires, get that water temp sending unit installed, secure the rear brake lines and do a solid once over on everything. After that I want to get fire extinguishers mounted and in car camera's setup and then maybe work on either mounting the tail lights or jack mount setup. It'll be a busy day/weekend for sure! Hoping to drive it around the block a few times once the exhaust is on it!

LOL, I'm a little bit slow on the internet stuff sometimes! But yeah, that's the first time it's moved under it's own power since May and the first time It's gone more then about 30' under it's own power in 2 years! Ran it down the street once. Need to align it and button up a few more things sat. Then I'll be doing laps sat afternoon around the neighborhood and if it seems all good dirt on Sunday!

For a first shake down with ZERO tuning out of the box I couldn't really be any happier. Only issue we had was minor enough that it'll take me about 5 minutes to fix it. It'll only get smoother and faster from here.
