Rachel's 1999 4Runner

I bought the 4Runner on March 10, 2017. 1999 SR5 with 268K, manual trans and rear locker. Added Weathertech floor mats, Wet Okole seat covers and got a new stereo installed. Mechanical work completed since purchase: clutch, timing belt, waterpump, thermostat, all fluids replaced, front brake pads, spark plugs & wires, air filter, fuel filter.

I just wish I had the time and the know how to do the work myself. Once I'm more settled into my house and get the yard cleaned up, I would like to start tinkering with it. Other than the maintenance, I had a rack installed yesterday to hold the RTT that we are installing tonight. Shrockworks bumpers and sliders on order...

Which RTT did you go with? We've been saving for one.

Shrockworks bumpers will be a nice touch!

CVT. The giant one. Go big or go home, I always say. I ordered it without thinking about the roof rack and later found that I needed to change the rack too. The tent closed will take up the entire roof. I will post pics before the install and after.

Awesome. CVT is my second choice. I've got my eye on a Tepui. Hoping to get in on a group buy when the time comes, so that may sway my decision. Look forward to the pics.

Manual w/locker = awesome! Truck looks nice, will look even nicer with your planned armor additions.
BTW, watch out with that tinkering business. It becomes...........addicting.......

Yay! I am very excited to try her out. Tomorrow we leave for Durango.

Habanero, I've been reading your entire build thread for the 96. I'm currently on page 82. Lots of good stuff in there! Thank you for posting such great details and pictures.

Wow, thanks for the compliment! Just keep in mind I'm just a tinkerer too, not a mechanic. I don't even play one on tv.

The rooftop tent looks fun. Hadn't seen dual ladders before (I live under a rock). Two would be a sanity saver for us.

Notable events: Used diff lock for the first time. 285K! Didn't make it to the top of the pass due to snow on trail.
