I read that and figured you meant aftermarket ones (IE budbuilt or the like), but I was leaning along the lines of why no stock skidplate?

Spending the day painting the trim its final color. With the paint that we're using we decided to do a little extra. after years of abuse the paint around the side steps is all messed up so i decided to finish off the last frontier of blacking out the truck. the last coats are drying now and its looking teflon coated. i'm sure this stuff will hold up, don't mind touching up from time to time though

Had a shoot today down in Savannah and almost didn't drive her away from it. It ended up snowing 2-3 around this area for the first time in 15 years and it brought worse flooding than I projected. Luckily I managed to pull the engine and tranny out before I lost traction and stalled. Had to jump start the starter and got her barely running to assist in the pull out. She got better back on hard ground and we were able to get a little more out of the shoot. Next one I just can't mix business with pleasure as much, and at 221k now I don't think my engines begging for another run so soon

Check out Bushwacker and Gobi online soon for the highlights of the shoot!

Your truck is very nice, I look at it time to time and it inspires me to change my truck up a little

nice job on the retrofit... ive been wanting to do this but cant afford so im just gonna get some HIDs and try to re-aim (not ideal but within budget). I personally think ur old rims looked crazy nice on ur rig but the FJ rims are nice also

Perfect day to give some attention to the 4runner. Decided to go up to Lowe's and do a little hardware shopping and come up with some limb risers. Ended up painting it all black to blend it in, overall pretty happy with it! Cost a little under 50 bucks and 3 hours constructing it best.

Coating all the pieces, in retrospect I should have done this last

lower mount u bolt base anchor

upper mount p shape clamp anchor with adjuster

all done

that's gnarly dude. Question: Can you open your hood without taking the cables off? If you can't, is there a way that you could have where you connect it on your gobi extended out further to each side. like always, truck looks better and better

Sorry to leave you hanging, you have to take the cables off to open the hood, but takes about 20 seconds a side so not too bad. Haven't looked at widening the angles yet but if it proves to be necessary then we'll see what comes of it

+ 315/75 16 General Grabber DOT
+ 3/4" D Ring Shackles on front

Bumper is drawn, we'll see what happens with that this month

Those tires look great. Can you compare/contrast them with the BFG KM2s?

I am most interested in on-raod performance, softness/hardness of rubber etc. compared to the BFGs. How many miles do you think you'll get from the Grabbers?

My Runner is strictly DD right now as I have 2 Cruisers better suited for off-road duties.

Thanks!

Garth

you know you could have just welded some i bolt heads to the arb instead of using those u-bolts. it would look a crap ton better.

What did you use to paint the rear stock bumper? What prep did you do?

Thanks
