My parents had a '92 turbo-diesel 4runner in South America while I was growing up. They drove it from Santa Cruz, Bolivia to Fortaleza, Brazil and back and it never broke down once. That inspired me to get my own and Nov '09 I picked up a 2000 SR5 with only 78k miles on the odo.

The automatic antenna was grinding bad so I immediately swapped that out for the tacoma whip antenna. I also ordered a sonoran steel 1.2 lift kit since the back shocks were sagging. Once I got the lift on there I ordered a set of 33" Warden AT from Treadwright. I couldn't be happier with these. 15k miles on them and they're holding up nice.

I got the deckplate and ISR mods done sometime there too and retrofitted some Hella 500FFs with HIDs.. Fall last year I got a shift solenoid check engine light. I was also having problems where the car would stay stuck in overdrive when on the highway after driving 70 for a good distance and hitting traffic. I had the car stall out a few times when slowing down quicking and transitioning to stop and go. I feared a milkshake but when I drained the tranny all I got was slightly dark fluid. I went ahead and got a B&M external oil cooler.

I picked up an e-locker axle last week off a 97 and i've been working on that. My plan is to get an ifs diff as well and regear both to 4.88. I'm thinking about dropping a truetrac into the front as well. When everything is set up I'll swap them both into my truck. Since it's my dd I can't really afford to have it down for too long.
