Burning Beard`s 2001 4Runner Build-Up

Decided to start up a build on the internets so I can log down the slow progress and trips I plan to take in the future. Bought the exact one ive been dreaming of for a year, bone stock, white with no fender flares or running boards.

Picture of the first day I got her and some wheeling trips

Decided to paint the grill black because of how it was polka dotting, this led to me also blacking out the bumpers after seeing hoghead420 do the same to his.

Teaser of whats to come next on the right side lol

Bought the Toytec Ultimate lift and a set of BFG KM2s and couldnt be happier with the way it drives so far, im upgrading from a suzuki samurai so it feels so classy to have a rig with power steering on the trail, enclosed and without a terrifyingly loose steering wheel.

So you live in Ohio? I live in Columbus and your rig is nice. Those are the same tires I'm looking at getting. You said on another thread you did a toytec lift? Did you do the top plate spacers with the Ome? I faught trying to get the spacers on and never got them to go in.

Hell yeah im in Werterville up by Hoover. Thanks, I bought these cause my buddy with an 85 Toyota had them and ill carry that recommendation over to you, didnt even feel like I was in mud yesterday. Not to loud on the road either. Didnt use spacers got coils all around and had Trails West install it, if I was better at wrenching id offer to help you out. What exactly are you having issues with?

Know of any trails around central Ohio? Theres a decent place up in Delaware by 36 and 23, but its all swamped over since its rained every day for a week. Theres also a super nice place an hour away over towards Zanesville I try to get out to every Saturday to help cut trails and run down the other ones. When your 4runner is ready we should go wheeling.

Haha that's awesome I live in westerville also lol back in huber ridge. Well that's where my house is. Idk how you have never seen my rig lol I've lived there for 4 years. It's black on black on black. Yeah we hit that place in zansville up this year. Wasn't to bad but it was so sloppy from rain. We just got back from haspin acres in Indiana it was blast but rained while we were there. We also went to sor up by Cleveland that place was cool. My buddies go to the one in Delaware all the time. But wasn't sure how legal it was I would love to go. I drive up Sunbury rd everyday to work, I work at advance in Sunbury I'm the commercial sales guy. My buddies at slowmotion are toytech dealers just fyi I setthem up with that. And the build performance imports and are big wheelers too.

Well I've got Ome 881 in front and 890 in rear so the lift looks good just a little rack to it. I just physically could not get the spacers up front. Could not get the strut to go in with the spacer on top and its only a half inch spacer. I figured run what I have now then let springs settle and try again. Def hit me up 6144033332 I'm Joe by the way. Or send me a friend request on fb Joe Henderson

Right your literally on the other end of spring road than me, if thats the case I must be blind or it was to dark to even make out what your truck was lol. Your truck looks sweet from the avatar, not a big fan of the two tone but those two colors I woulda been happy with. Sounds like a great time, that was the downfall of the samurai I had to get my dad to trailer it if I wanted to go to an event outside of Columbus, but im set to travel now! Did you go to Heiney Farms or Clay Valley? I talked to some guy on a dirt bike back in the woods in Deleware and he said his dad was riding there 15 years ago and that the city owns it. Honestly monster trucks own it a major portion of the place is just an open field with 5 foot deep ruts, theres still some fun to be had there though, plus its close. It connects to some bussiness in the back but they never bothered me the multiple times theyve seen me.

That sounds like a pretty awesome job, stayin smart not using your body. What do the guys at slowmotion drive? I see one of their blue civics around westerville all the time. Thats a shame at least they dont look to bad with the rear jacked up a bit. They seem so small stock though its crazy to think I 4wheeled this.

When I ordered I didnt see an option for the drop panhard bar, how necessary is this to have and how hard is the install?

Yeah def need to hit the place in Delaware up then. Just let me know when. Heiney farms is where we went. Wasn't bad but I've seen better plus its not to far away. I've got some pics posted on my fb from haspin acres that place is fun. As for the pan hard bar drop. It looks easy just two bolts and a bracket but when it looks easy it never is. The guys at slowmotion drive jeeps but they are good guys so I won't hold it against them lol.

For sure, this weekend im gonna black out my wheels and possibly check out the trails west mud run. So hopefully it dries up a little by next weekend and we can actually get around the place. I know what you mean the trails are tight there, my sami took some body damage lol. Your probably right about that, the bars gonna be wedged in there tighter than a nun. Ahh jeeps are everywhere but to each his own, only thing im jealous about is how enourmous the aftermarket support is for them.

Oh nice, hope that mud run is fun. I was trying to talk the gf into go but she wasn't having it lol. She will do most everygthing but she needed a weekend away from it lol. Yeah I wish we had the same backing and pricing as jeeps do. Plus everyone and there brother has one so its not that appealing to me. I like being different and showing what the runner can and will do.

Actually not gonna be able to make that either, had to push the painting and detailing back to sunday but those runs go on all summer long so hopefully before its over we get to see some major thrashing. Sounds like youve got an awesome woman, smart of you to keep her happy. Im with you on that, these misfit toyotas sure surprised and impressed the hell outta me. Just checked out those pictures on your facebook your rig is sick and that place looks like a blast, just a little too slick. Ive had mud steer me into trees multiple times and thats my greatest fear with the runner besides rolling it

Oh trust me it was super slick and I was running allterrains lol. It was difficult but the locker made a world if difference. I'm telling you, you need to think about getting one. I have the best guy to install one and for a great price. Thanks also I had someone offer me 8 grand for it today I said thanks but no thanks lol. I love it to much. Plus it will be my boys when he gets old enough to hit the road. Yeah if Momma ain't happy no ones happy lol trust my that's tried and true. Def hit me up soon I need to sling some mud lol
