Post 98 4runner suspension; overall wear

Hello current members of YotaTech.
My communication may be a little choppy as I have only just become a member of your forum; bear with me.
Before leaving Cambridge, Ontario Canada I had my mechanic install Monroe
struts on the front & shocks on the back.
The trip down to Bonita Springs Florida was the most interestiing drive in over 6 years.
The ride was considerably better & we had no mechanical problems during the 3 day drive.
Actually my wife karen & I just happened to see this little 4Runner for sale 2 weeks before this Florida trip, bought it & parked our 2003 Ram diesel.

There is still a bit of clunking & road vibration especially going over speed bumps (low speed) or when entering or leaving parking lots to get on to a main road.

Any suggestions as to additional components I should be replacing?

Thanks for your interest in suggesting bushings; are you referring to torsion bar bushings? Could you elaborate a little more.

Mybest regards,

Michael

You have front coil-overs, not torsion on a 98 4Runner. A-arm bushings, rack mount bushings, sway bar bushings....rear control arms (uppers are captive, lowers on older 3rd gens are too, rear sway bar bushings, panhard bar bushings....I'm prolly forgetting some....replace as needed.

Lower ball joints if over 150,000 IMO (search- it can be a spendy failure compared to the cost of oem ball joints as insurance), upper ball joints, you've already done shocks...

Also for clunking sway bar links, maybe tie rod ends...

I like to get under the truck (parked, brake one, in gear, not running) and have someone stand in or use a door frame and make the truck bounce while I look for the wrong sort of movement or hear the noise in question.
