OK.... I'm back!

Sorry I haven't updated this thread in a while. I have some progress, not as much as I would like, but, thats the sign of the times...

Anyway, I'm hoping to glue the Pile-O-Parts on this truck...LOL. its not really doing me much good if it's in a pile in my basement.... right?

So here is a update.....

Bump stops..... one more piece to the puzzle.

Couple weeks ago I managed to do some welding, windy day but managed to get er done.
I welded the receiver gusset plate and top plate inside seam. These were the last structural welds.

The next scene in this program was adding the rock light brackets.
I used some angle iron and pieces of scrap to form the brackets, then welded them up....

Located the light brackets on the backside of the bumper, allowing for full up / down and side to side rotations for setting the perfect spot light direction. The lights will be up high enough to be out of harms way. The lights I'm mounting are 55w tractor lights, found them at Princess Auto on sale for $7.

While I was at it, I welded the Chevy leaf spring hangers together....

SONTT (Southern Ontario Toyota Trucks) afternoon outing April... Video I put together... Not extreme wheeling but who cares, it's still wheeling....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBTQ9OZXh24&feature=channel_page

Truck suspension is still stock... still fun, but need that upgrade.
Still need brake lines and a couple odds and ends, then it's lift time... can't wait.. not long now...

I managed to squeak some time in.
Leave it to me, to destroy the peaceful dinnertime of the neighborhood by grinding up a storm.......

I did a once over with a flap disk, removing weld berries, sharp and fugly features....

Next step is to fab some safety chain loops. I'll add them to the backside of the bumper to maintain high clearance....

High clearance bed sliders, attached to the bumper to come + swing out gate...

just a recap of my plan....

This is a gate design I dreamed up...

Ordered the Barrel hinges..... still waiting on these to show up on my door step

Started the mockup over the winter...

That has to be one of the most in depth build threads on the site. I love your amazing use of the tools that you have. Just seeing some of the stuff you had to go through using the band saw had me wishing I could buy you a mill. Overall that is one bad A bumper that you have built. great job!
