Zaino at it's Best...Check out the Pics

I just finished applying my second coat of Zaino. I did one yesterday and one today. I already had about three coats on it, but it had been forever since I waxed it. Well....the results speak for themselves. This stuff is amazing!! Check out the pics I posted. Later.

Looks great!

I've been using Zaino on all my vehicles for the last 5 years or so.
Last year Zaino came out #1 in the Guru Report magazine's test of 47 waxes.

Great product.

Looks great! Did you do it by hand?

Yep. Totally by hand. My arm feels like it's about to fall off, but it was worth it.

Matt,

Outstanding. Where's my sunglasses!??!

Did you get the ZFX? Is that why you waited two days? Or is it b/c its cold out where you live? If you haven't bought the ZFX, you should since it allows you to do multiple coats per day.

Also, it seems from what you wrote that you have not applied a coat in some time. How long? And were you satisfied w/ the protection? My wife's Camry has not been Zaino'd in about 9 months now, but I am still awed by how glossy it still is.

It looks really good. I was next to you a couple of weeks ago coming down 280 but couldn't get you attention.

Bob,
My last coat of Zaino was somewhere between 8-10 months ago. I did use the ZFX this time, and also the last time that I waxed it, which like I said was awhile ago. I wanted to take my time and do a good job, so I decided to do one coat yesterday and one today and yes, it is pretty damn cold here (30s yesterday) so washing it was much, much harder than waxing. I love this stuff. A guy at work turned me on to it, and it's all I've been using since. I was very glad to see that they now accept electronic payment. I ordered it on Saturday and it was here in B'ham on Wednesday. Pretty awesome service. Later.

I have never heard of Zaino. I have always used Zymbol and it is excellent. I wouldnt mind giving it a try as soon as the weather warms up!

Is it only available online?

Yup, only online from Zainos. There are a few dealers but not many.

Is the Zaino result improved with a Porter-Cable random orbital buffer, or should it be applied by hand only?

It's a shame that the Zaino results don't show up as well in silver as it does in the darker colors...

still, that's some really nice work

I have some Griot's stuff and it's pretty good but I haven't had a chance to use the polish so I can't compare to the finish job I've seen in these pictures.

One thing I have been hearing though, is that while most polishes strip away at the paint and thereby make the rest of the paint level with the depth of most scratches (swirls) - Zaino's apparently fills into the cracks and makes everything glossy again.

At least that's what I've heard - I know nothing about Zaino's.

Griot's vs. Zaino is one of those things that won't really ever be settled (I think). Not quite on the caliber of Amsoil vs. K&N but something like that.

Assuming you don't haven't tried Griot's,
On my own experience, Griot's is definitely much better than any of the store bought stuff I've had. I do really like their wash mitts and foam applicators.
Try searching on Griot's and Zaino - you'll find A LOT of stuff to read.

Lightbulb

I've been reading about griots for the last few months. There seems to be a never ending supply of threads (not just on yotatech). I think I'll be getting the PC buffer and the Griots once the weather get warm and the wallet gets fat. I may give Zaino a try down the road.

I got a bottle of Griots Best of Show to use on my ARB bumper.

Just to see how it compares to Zainos - I polished 1/4 of my hood with Griots the rest of my runner is Zaino'd. I could not tell the difference. Both parts of the hood beaded water the same and they shine equally.
The Griots does look better on the black powder coat on the ARB than just Zainos.

Both polishes go on easy by hand and when dry buff off easy. I was suprised that Griots produced very little dust when buffing off for a carnuba based polish.

No power equipment is needed for Zaino.
The stuff goes on and off so easily.
Takes me 20 minutes on and 15 minutes off.
To fill in swirls use a couple of coats of the Z-5.
Finish with Z-2.
The ZFX additive added to Z-5 and Z-2 makes Zaino easier to use.
With ZFX you eliminate the need to apply Z-1 first and ZFX makes the Z-2/Z-5 dry faster.
The most important thing when using Zaino is apply very thin coats.
The thinner the better.

.
Carnauba protects for a short time.Carnauba doesn't produce much of a shine.
Carnauba wax shine comes from silicone, parafin and banana(Zymol) oils.
Some guys in my Corvette hobby just use the Z-5 on dark colors without the Z-2.
