What did you use to keep the holes from rusting? Touch up paint?

I used that brown rustoilum primer in a can, 2 heavy coats, I used silicoln around the "bolt" holes and I then undercoated the back side heavily.. I was going to paint it with my touch up but I forgot it.. I plan to R&I ot this summer and give it a coat of ppaint and just to see how it looks..
