Guys, dim out the secondary information, such as the original poster, last post time, last poster, views, replies. All of this information in most cases does not add to the functionality of the forum. If that text is a darker shade of grey it would not detract as much from the post itself.

The color scheme + contrast make it very tough to skim the page for thread titles.

Sincerely,

HCI designer by day

I like the new look.

I didn't realize the PM box was storing all my old messages so I couldn't figure out why people were saying my box was full but there were like 2 inbox messages. The new look with the inbox meter really helps.

Where are all the old emoticons?
I only see a handful and don't know how to get more.

They are there, the link to click them is a font that we need to figure out how to darken up.
You will see the link in the bottom left of the smilie area if you "squint."

Question....How come the pics no longer show up in the threads?
There are only hyperlinks for them but it is tough to browse for stuff that way.

You caught me editing the area you type in, and yes, it was dark for 5 seconds or so until I fixed it.

The link to click on to see more smilies I figured out how to fix, and when you hover over it, it should be red too.

Thanks for the comps, it's a lot of work to get this running.
In fact I have not even fed myself yet.
I best go get some vittles before I keel over at the keyboard

PS, what are the thoughts on the bright white text at the top in the NAV bar where it lists the CP, Seach, Member List, ect?
Should it be toned down to match the darker shade of white that lists the forums?

I can see pics in threads.
Not all are working for example like Jackson's flex shots in the flex post in the Trail Riding section.

We don't have all the answers right now for that, and things will not be perfect in one day.

I got a life too, and I don't wanna be sitting at this dang keyboard all day working on things

Speaking of emoticons... while the board is being upgraded, how about adding more emoticons? I've seen a lot from other boards that are really cool that members here have used somehow. Just a suggestion.

Chris, I think we have 101 or so right now, and it makes the page pretty busy.
I also have to figure out why the smilies keep changing in the little box where you have a few to select before you click the link to get more.

If you want more smilies, the best thing to do is bookmark a page on your IE toolbar, and use it.
I'll even give you some to bookmark, then I really gotta go, I am starving.
Been at this keyboard all morning updating stuff.

OK...sorry to bust your chops and I don't mean to but two things.

One, I have a hard time editing messages...as of now it only lets me delete them.

Two, whenever I try and post the normal way by clicking on the reply button I get a quote of whatever the last post was...I end up having to delete it before I post.

No biggie Corey...take your time! I know how tiring it can get sitting at the computer all day. Rock on man! :rockband:

Chris,

To avoid always having the previous message quoted in your post, hit the button to the right of the reply button. that one is the quick reply and will let you type in the grey box belw the post.

Chris, yep you were doing it the wrong way.
As Tom said, you can activate the Quick Reply box by hitting the little icon to the leftof the edit/reply buttons.
You were hitting that little reply button which = Quote.

To reply like normal, see this pic.

As for not being able to delete a post, it's a simple permissions thing in our admin panel, and we will get around to it when we get time.

PS, for all of you who were using the stock avatars we had here, you now have a rex X in your profile.
The avatars are gone, please live with it.

If you want an avatar, there are websites where you can make them up, or use a picture from your PC.

Corey,
Thanks for the help man. My other question wasn't about deleting posts it was about being able to edit them. Deleting is no problem, when I hit the edit button on my posts it comes up and has two options for deletion and then once I hit the button I just go back to the original thread without being able to edit...unless I'm doin somethin else wrong.

I'll work on finding a new avatar.

All you guys are doin' a GREAT job and keep it up!

Fink

posting pics SUX

i like the change in all senses except 1.......
that problem being that i wanted to post a pic and had to delete all my previous pics since i was over my limit, i know i didnt have to del all pics but screw it.........

now others who wanna see those pics are SOL as pics are worth a 1,000 words. another thing i was doing so everyone could see the pics was to upload then edit my post and use the link from the uploaded pic so the pic would show up on the post -- was this causing any problems i tried it again and it just made a hyperlink??

I LIKE THE OLD WAY OF POSTING PICS
