Wow!!!!
I just went back on some moutain roads today! It was fun... there was a ton of mud, the roads were pretty rough. Lots of standing water and even a couple stream crossings. I was extremely impressed with the 4R. The kid I was with drives a Jeep, he said he wants a 4R now. They have a pretty amazing ride over some pretty rough ground. I made it through a LOT of mud and water, I honestly thought I'd never get back out, but once I did I realized at no time was I seriously in trouble. That's a good feeling!
I can't wait to get the pickup set up with some mud tires !

Sounds like you had a great time, and you friend had 4Runner envy
Make sure you have some extended breathers front & rear.
I did the rear a few years back, and I finally picked up the 90 degree fitting yesterday to do my front one.
If it's not raining tomorrow, I may attempt to put it on.
I like stream crossings too, and it's always a good idea to have the extended breathers in place.

Well I measured with a stick before I crossed, I went to the deepest part and measured it against my diff cases and trans. My friend thought I was nuts, but I didn't want to take any chances. I was covered in mud anyway. (I had to get out and put a board under my back tire in a few inches of mud. I think I might need new sneakers)
