Is it worth going from 265's to 315's?

I have the opportunity to pick up a set of 315's (35's) for a really good deal and am wondering if running them is really worth making the jump from 265's? I know that a 1" RB body lift, wheel spacers and shaving the UCA in the front is needed along with some modifying the pinch weld. I would not be able to regear for a while and would just have to not use OD on the highway...
My wheels anre 17x7.5, are they even wide enough to run the 315's? any and all opinions are welcome, dont flame me too bad....

(I have a 96 Limited with the Sonoransteel lift with LC coils and one spacer in the front)

id run em on a wider wheel. 7.5 may be too narrow for 315's..esp if youre running stock BS'd wheels. youd want some gearing done shortly after, unless you like your truck really slow off the line. it'll also hurt performance alot more than when you upgraded to 17's. off road, you wont have the torque...even in LO. on road, w/o gears your acceleration will suffer, and your mileage will go down the drain. youd get a higher top speed though...if youve got the power or long enough downhill to reach it

if its a really good deal, i'd get em n try em on. if it doesnt work for you..you can always switch back...or get em n wait till new gears come.

calrockx & sean @ TLT run 35's on their 3rd gens...but i think on 8inchers and i know sean has done some maaad pinchweld work to make em fit on full lock & full stuff...

just my web wheelin 2 CDN cents
