After realizing how fun & reliable my 2000 Toyota 4Runner is, my dad finally made up his mind today and picked up a brand new 2003 Toyota Tundra Ltd. V8 Stepside Access Cab. For the past month or so, he has been contemplating whether to sell his 2001 Porshe Boxster and buy either a Tundra, Ram, or F-150. Fortunately, he chose the right one. I drove the truck today and its pretty amazing. Its got the Borliss twin exhaust system as well as the TRD Offroad Package, full leather seating, the Challenger? nerf bars and 17" alloy wheels. What a ride... I couldnt believe how smooth it is through turns and over bumps while at the same time it provides quick acceleration and a deep throaty engine sound.

 

If he was thinking about a Boxster """"S"""", you missed out.
That's a class RIDE!

I was planning on getting a sports car at the end of summer this year, and one of the cars I was considering was a porsche boxter (dont worry, I'm not selling the runner). You can get a 1999 with 20-30k miles for about $20k and some change. How is the maintenance? Handling? performance on these things?

I was also considering a 98 supra turbo .. but its rediculously expensive for a car that old.

 

They have been having major engine probs along with the E46 M3. You can pic up a high mileage TT MKIV in the high teens.

 

And just try to look at the engine.

 

the boxsters drive pretty well. they are quick and fun, but very uncomfortable. after driving in one for 20 minutes you feel the urge to get out and stretch. they are also very bumpy but turn great. my dad sold his mainly because after owning it for 2 years, the value had dropped over $18k. never buy a new one unless your ready to go swimming underwater.
