Alright, well in addition to deciding on an ARB or TJM I mounted my Hella driving lights on the Surco and now I am trying to decide on the best way to wire them up. I need to know how all of you ran your wires, There are only a few ways it can be done, sunroof (not sure about that one) or through the third brake light, but I'm concerned with getting the wire into the headliner and then having to run it from there.

New invention idea guys, wireless driving lights!!

hmmm i think the third brake light is your best bet

 

Down threw the Door under the rubber weather stripping. is where I ran mine.

Can you show me a pic of where you ran it? I was thinking about this too but wasn't sure it was safe, I dont want the wire to get cut in the jam and I wasnt sure the weather stripping would be able to hold the wire securely.

Look at jacksonpt's website and how he ran his wiring. He ran it into the back hatch, no drilling, no muss, no fuss.

 

Awesome Corey! I forgot you have lights up there...nice work. I might take a look at that tonight. Instead of going to the relays I just went ahead and ran it straight to the battery, that way I can have them on whenever I need them on.

On a sidenote, kinda, how hard is it to put switches into the center console? I've still got one opening in the dash so I will probably put the switch there but later on I'm going to need another spot for a switch in case I get another set and put them in the rear or somewhere else.

I still like my method the best, but to each his own. It's up to you.

edit: at the end of one of the threads taking the headliner down is mentioned, but is not necessary the wires snake down without any headliner removal.

You really should use relays in your installation, it is a lot safer than just running them to the battery.

Agreed, I ran my lights through the relay without having to have the car on or key in the ignition to turn my lights on. Don't hook up your second live to the switch from your high beams like the directions indicate, go directly from the battery, that way you can have them on whenever you want.

I have my Hellas mounted on my Yakima and the wires ran down underneath weather stripping like Corey did, very simple and very easy install.
