winch battery question
Hello all
I am installing a optima yellow top in my taco.
I thought I herd in another thread that if you hook the winch up to the wrong terminals it will smoke the battery????
I was planning to hook the tacoma up to the side post and then the winch to the top post .
Any thoughts or ideas would be great before I start this weekend project.

I also read something about that.If I remember it's better to hook up the winch to the top mounts as the side mounts on a battery are not as good. But,I had my x8000i hooked up to the side posts on my Diehard & never had a problem with it.(I didn't use it that much though)Hey where are you in s.Fla?

As a matter of fact the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept. has a Chevy truck with about 6" of lift & 36's with a Warn on the front. They tow a trailer full of sheriff 4 wheelers to get everyone riding out here.(almost everything is now posted NO TRESPASSING)I wonder if they all fight over who gets to drive it.
