Im still not seeing the point of this argument. Sure people mod 2wd rigs. Some of them wheel them, some of them dont. A LOT of people mod 4wd rigs in rediculous ways and never take them off the pavement either, and a lot of people do. There really isnt a difference between those two. Either you wheel it or you dont weather its modded or stock or 2wd or 4wd. I think personaly that yea it is kinda rediculous to spend a bunch of money to make the vehicle LOOK like its a big modded bling machine. but its not my money being wasted so i dont really care. I use my truck in 2wd offroad probably 70% of the time anyway.

Gotta jump in here even if what I am saying is nothing new.
I am modifying my 2wd pickup so it is more capable and more fun to drive than stock. I live where there are curvy, fast, steep mountain roads where I want the truck to corner well but, I like driving off-road too. So, suspension/wheel/tire up-grades and engine performance upgrades allow me to drive the mountain roads like a champ and have a little extra clearance for dirt roads. I want the truck to do both well. Is that hard to understand? Ever heard of dual-sport motorcycles or cyclocross bicycles? They might not be the best off-road choice or the best street choice but they can do both well.
