Why did I think of this sooner?

This is from the deptpartment of "Why didn't I realize this sooner?" I was doing the brakes this weekend and the vise in the basement was busted plus I forgot to bring home the portable vise bench from the shop and fumbled around for half an hour trying to clamp/secure the hubs to a wobbley table. Then, duh, to mount the new rotors/pack the bearings/install the new seals, I just flipped the tire over and presto.

That's a good idea... When getitdone and I did my brakes, I (like a friggin' moron)just sat the hub assembly on the ground to put on the new rotors. It worked, but I messed up two of the lugs on my front pass. hub and now I need to replace the studs... But it is such a PITA!! Might as well rebuild the manual hubs and re-pack (again)the front hub assemblies while I'm at it!

I should mention what precipitated this. A "factory trained" Toyota technician impact-wrenched the front wheels back on at 6:07 pm on a Friday, warping the rotors. Yeah, I coulda brought it back and complained but the last thing I want is the same disgrunted tech thrashing on my truck again. Plus, some the caliper's pistons were siezed. So I went whole hog. New calipers, pads/shims, rotors. Seals. Hardware. Degreased everything. Repacked. I just touch the pedal, and it stops on a dime and doesn't pull to the right anymore. Oh, and I'm NEVER using cross-drilled rotors on any vehicle. The only way to true them is on flywheel machine, which is more expensive than buying new ones. And cross-drilled rotors are way more sensitive to warping. After all, rotors are heat sinks. It's just not economical for daily drivers/people on a budget.

You probably don't have those dust/splash shields on so yeah, that's possible.

Yep. I used a Vibrant 45-degree tube, meter adapter and silcone coupling.
