trying to remove upper ball joint. Borrowed the C clamp ball joint press from O'Reily's and don't seem to have the right parts to make it work.
Going back tomorrow because they have an adapter for 4wd vehicles which I think I need, but the guy there said what I got would work?
This thing is kicking my arse.

OTC makes specific sleeves for the UBJ, which no auto parts store will have for loan.

Here is how a guy did his. Good luck, and post the outcome:

okay, headed back to the part store to see if that adapter kit might work, if not, going to get the 3 arm puller and buy a cheap pitman puller and try bajataco tricks..
FYI, there is a new tool out call a Ball Point Joint Press, works like a charm separating the ball joint from the upper a-arm.

okay, the 7 ton 3 pt puller is what you need to press the upper ball joint out of the spindel.
I used a 35mm impact deep socket on top of the ball joint then placed steel plate on top. Then threaded the puller rod down onto the plate, pressing the joint out. To install, I reversed the process but needed a larger dia cylinder. I used a fork seal driver (tool for replacing seals on motorcycle suspension) to slip over ball joint and sit on the spindel so the arms on the puller can grab a hold on top of the seal driver. I larger dia deep socket could be used but I did not have anything that big. You need the length since the puller arms are long. You need to remove the brake line bracket and the A.D.D. line bracket to make room.

I have yet to find something that needed pressed out, that I couldnt do with this kit!

It should be the same kit that advance auto loans out.

O'Reily's was similar but did not have the selection of cylinders. I could not get the right set up with what they had so go the 7 ton 3 prong puller and it worked.
