Why not by a supra motor and throw it in a 4runner.

Again, anything is possible, but $$ is the determining factor. Someone is already selling 2JZ conversions for the tacos.

I have one that GADGET did with the URD 2.0 pully and injector kit that has 300 rwhp but still needs to be fine tuned once it go's into my 4runner. In the taco it came out of it was putting out these numbers so i will be interested in what it will do in my 4runner once installed.

that's what I would do, the 2JZ-GTTE (I think that's right?) has 300hp or 320hp bone stock, now that is probably at the flywheel, but it wouldn't be that hard to to get the at the wheels, as apposed to trying to get a 5VZ up that high and keep it reliable without spending $$$$

I know that there was a guy that put one in a 2wd reg cab taco for drag racing, I can't remember where on the web I saw it, but it had a 700r4 or a turbo 400 behind it, and it was totally stripped and prepped, not a street truck by any means, but still mean none the less, I think it was in the 11s or something like that probably better as it's been a while and my memory sucks

the only bad thing about the inline 6's is that they are not as torquey down low like the V6's or V8's

but at 300ponies it still has more torque then a stock 4runner, maybe even a supercharged one

They are also very long and in a small engine bay don't leave much room for a radiator and fan. Speaking of radiators, I've found that Toyota pretty much designed them for the stock engine, when you go and double the HP over the stock engine the cooling system can become a weak link.

what about dyno sheets and numbers.....?
my buddy built a custom intercooled turbo kit on his 01 tacoma 3.4, he is pushing 13 lbs of boost and has a dyno'd 340+- hp. Its scary to say the least. I cant remember his strip times, but he pulled 2 car lengths on an 05 corvette from start to finish the last time he was at the drags in san diego. He has to pull off the line in 4wd otherwise he just sits there spinning his wheels.
its on his stock motor, urd kit with 440 injectors, intercooled turbo with 100k miles on motor, 25k being turbo'd, and the other 75k stupidcharged.

no, he runs pump 91 octane. When he wants to up the octane, he mixes tolulene at 1 gal tolulene to 5 gal gas to raise the octane from 91 to 94 or so.

Sure. Check out www.samsonfab.com and click intercooled turbo under announcements. That will take you to his build. Or click http://www.samsonfab.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=34

Note tho, he hasnt updated his numbers on that page since his first dyno run at a shop whose dyno was messed up, but has since confirmed his #'s at another shop.

Yeah, wow that is sweet.

It looks like he is just spooling the turbo off the passenger 3 cylinders, is that correct, or did he route the driver side manifold in somehow?

I'd love to do a setup like this, heck even just the charger since F.I. makes such a difference at altitude, but then my sensible side kicks in and I can't justify it.

actually no cats, just has 2 - 3" high flow magnaflow mufflers. Cats are the single most restrictive part on the truck.

No, its being spooled by all 6 cylinders, the drivers side is routed to the turbo manifold from behind the motor. it was easier to make the manifold for the turbo on the pass side cause theres more room there.
