who has 285's on a SR5

I was wondering if someone has pictures of a 3rd gen 4runner SR5 without fender flares with 285-75's mounted on a 16x8 4.5 back spaced rim (-6 offset). This is the setup I want on my truck, but I am slightly worried about how far the tires will stick out.

Thanks

Right here buddy... sorry the pics are dark. I just took them a few minutes ago. I like the look alot, however, it does kick up water, mud, etc along the side of the body because of the little bit of tires sticking out.

3" suspension lift with 2" body lift to fix rubbing issues.

That thing is looking great Erik.

I have the rims/ tires you are talking about also but my SR5 has the bigger "limited" style flares. They are absolutely flush with the flares on mine so just like Erik's pic shows they will stick out some but it is a meety look that is great IMO.

Spaugh has them on his also but with the black SR5 flares and his only stick out about an inch which looks nice also. Mine just look like they fill the wheel wells out and nothing more.

Good set up for not rubbing a lot on the frame at full turn and flexed out!

Hey Erik, I love those wheels! Your 4Runner looks great. What cargo carrier are you using? I am looking to get one for my truck. Any advice? Are you happy with yours? Thanks man,

Rob

Thanks for the pictures ErikJenna. That truck looks badass. I just hope the police around here don't have a problem with the wheels sticking out. If the cops do tell me to put fender flares on, is it easy enough to replace the chrome strips with limited flares?

Thanks dude... I love them also! In case you were wondering, they are Panther Series 359's and ran about $120 each. There is a GREAT place in San Diego to buy these. Here is the link: http://www.customwheelsdirect.com/index.php. They had the best price by far for rims and prett decent prices on their tires as well.

The rack I have is the Urban (not Safari) Roof Rack from Surco. It's SUPER lightweight... the only drawback is that it's not black. Other than that, I use it all the time when I travel. I bought it from a fellow member for a great price.. $100 + a YotaTech t-shirt. I think they run around $300 new after all the adapters and crap.

I've just bought 285/75/16's , goodyear wrangler MTR's. I love them but they rub a whole lot. I've got a 3" lift but just purchased a 2" BL to add, and I'll have to install them pretty soon so that the tires don't get eaten up before I get a chance to wheel moab!

they stick out a little bit but not too bad.

He already bought the 2" lift... sorry Erik, another one goes with the higher body lift. I went with the 2" and love it. No rubbing issues anymore.

Nice rig by the way, I noticed the valence from the front bumper removed on your truck. You should remove the 2 triangular pieces sticking out (don't know what they are called). It's a simple bolt that's straight in each one. Looks 100x better without those. Nice truck again.

huh, never thought of removing those - I'll do that tomorrow sometime!

what backspacing are your wheels?
they are 4.25 (sorry, just noticed that you wanted pics of rigs with BS of 4.5" :pat: ) not sure about the offset. Procomp series 97 - 6883 wheels 16X8

ErikJeanna, I love your rig, how hard was it to throw on the BL?

It's easy... but it's easier with another set of hands though. I had another Yotatecher help me out... but then I went and re-tightened everything myself afterwards. I went with the 2" and love it, I actually wish my rig was way bigger, but the 5'3" wife set a height limit for me

With all lifts, whether body or suspension: "Lift as much as needed, but as little as possible"

rocket do you have a 1" BL? I went to trails and stuff in my rig and the rubbing was way too much to handle, even on little bumps and I figured 2" would help, especially if I go with sway-bar disco's... maybe just grinding pinching and tearing up the wheels wells is the way to go.. what do you have running on your rig? (which is really sweet by the way)
