who is the best place that sells tires.
Best service with rotating and road hazard and so forth. My girlfriend bought some tires at wal-mart and last time she had a flat I had to go get her from the store and take her back to the store with the recipt. I would think it was in the computer! anyways she stopped by there today to get them rotated and they told her thier wasnt enough tread left to rotate them. It looks like they have alot of tread left. I would think that if they were bald they would still have to rotate them. What you guys think.

It could be a safety issue where they dont want to deal with heavly worn tires. I persoanly would not want to touch worn tires. I might be accused of causing more damage or even blamed if it poped a few days down the road.

Costco is great. Lifetime balance and rotation included at no extra charge. They put nitrogen in my tires and also have the lug-centric adapter for my rims. Great prices-----
If one set of your girlfriends tires were almost bald then I can see why they would not rotate them. She probaly has front wheel drive and the front tires are very worn and the rears are fine,or vise versa. In that case they would recommend replacing just the front two. I would have to agree with them in that scenario.

dicscount/america's tire is top notch.. they are very finnicky about the not rotating due to unsafe wear... they are actually in the right, bas it is a safety hazard, and by doing this they are making it so if you wreck, you cant come after them and sue them....
wheel works is pretty good about prices... and the rotations... they will rotate them even if they are unsafe if you really want them to....
both companies charge for flat repairs if you didnt buy the tires from them.. they may not have in the past, but i can assure you they do now... however, depending on what sales guy you get to write you up... they might just say its warranty or free even if it is not, to help you out and not cost anything... it is a labor issue... they can charge yuo for labor, or just tag it for free, and it will still get done by the techs...
i have worked for both companies and quit both.... both are fine towards customers... however, i had the most problems with wheel works, but that was because they play favorites with the employees and treat otehrs like crap....

I have to second the costco tire shop. I have had a few flats, 1 nasty bulge " I hit a drain pipe at 35MPH" and a few other tire issues with no ?? asked! They have the best prices, and if they dont have what you are looking for they can order it "as long at the sell that brand of tire". The lifetime balance and rotation is SWEET. I can go wheeling and totally SCREW my balance job up, take my truck in have the wheels rebalanced and rotated while I go shopping for an hour! Anyway I say Costco!~ Good Luck!

if you dont rotate your tires every 6000 miles it chops the rear tires up over time (run you hand over them, does it feel like a washboard). then after 10k or 20k or whatever miles and you decide its time to rotate (usually when the fronts are now bald) the tire store doesnt want to cause you will get a nasty vibration through the steering wheel from these chopped up tires being in the front. this is why it is crucial to rotate the tires on time. certain cars are more forgiving than others of course.

They were rotated frequently and one was replaced not to long ago, under warrenty and pro rated. They said last time that they wouldnt replace another because the front end wasnt alinged wich was B.S. Needless to say we went and paid a shop to check the alighnment and it is good.

Wich is besides the point! point being the service is crappy, I had to get up at 10 am to pick her up so she could come back home and find the recipt, I work nights, AND, the product sucks, AND warrenty is B.S.

lifes just a bitch. Maybe the insides were worn or maybe the employee was just a dick.
Costco and discount tire are the best imo. The only difference is that you can shop at costco, and pretty much everything they sell is good. They try not to sell crap. That goes for electronics, tires, cameras, etc. Good place
