Whining sounds from 1st through 2nd gears

Hey folks, my 2000 Tacoma Xtra cab has a wining sound when letting the clutch out in 1st and 2nd gear that increases on acceleration but becomes very faint if at all audible once I’m in 3rd. Any leads? Thinking it’s the transmission or clutch component related?

2000 Tacoma Xtra Cab
3.4L V6
5 spd manual

thanks!

When was the last time the transmission oil got changed? Was it GL-5 oil? How about the rear diff? When was the last time the main propeller shaft (rear drive shaft in normal parlance) got it's zerts, if any, greased? When was the clutch last changed, if ever? Was the pilot bearing changed then?

All I can think of right off the bat. I'm sure someone who knows a lot more than I do about this stuff will have more/better ideas than I have...

thanks for the insights. I am not sure about a few of those things, almost all of which have come to mind. Was thinking of doing the clutch and servicing tranny and drivelines as a start. Wondered if it was the pilot bearing or throw out bearing myself.
