Where is the LSPV?

I have power bled the brakes on my 4runner a few times, but have a spongy pedal still. someone recommended checking the Proportioning valve to make sure it's functioning. However i can't find it... I also only have one brake line running to the back of the 4runner. Is it somewhere hidden??? or do i not have one... and am i supposed to have one?

Steve

This is the best pic I could find. It is just to the right of the left spring. Follow that small pipe with the hinged end over to under the body and the LPSV is just above the pumpkin and to the right of it. This pic is from Leo Castaneda's truck which is still for sale as far as I know. Your Tacoma may have it in a slightly different position. Make sure you bleed it from its port then bleed the rear brakes. Some guys use a different sequence for bleeding the rear but air can get caught in the LPSV.

I don't have anything like that... my hard brake line goes directly to a soft line and down to the axle. I wonder if the 3rd Gen's don't have that anymore...
