Where To Get Fibergalss Fenders?
I cant seem to find fiberglass fenders anywhere! I looked at Marlin, All-Pro, FROR. I remember seeing them on one or more of those sites but dont see them now?
So where else can I get them?

We have glassworks fenders on a few of our trucks, the fit is the best of any glass fenders I've seen but even at that, don't expect a factory like fit, at least not w/o doing some serious prep work. If you get them, read our article on how to install them properly so that they line up well on the body.

downey has glass fenders that dont require custom mounts, and use stock hardware.

Glassworks and Hanneman are both awesome. Fiberwerx (I think that's how you spell it) also makes galss, but from what I understand it is race glass. Very light, but mostly resin, so it is very fragile.
Hanneman and Glassworks have a lot of fiber in them and are pretty damn strong. I can't speak for downey glass, but I'm sure it's good.
There are available fenders for your truck from both glassworks and hanneman, but there are some things to consider.
Some fenders mate to the stock hood (The easiest setup). I liked the looks of mine, which are basically a rip off of Ivan stewart trucks. They look cool but require a new hood to match the lines. If you don't get the hood the fenders stick up about an inch from the stock hood. (GET THE HOOD).
Anyway for my generation, you have to pin the hood with 4 pins, requiring complete removal of the hood for even the slightest engine access. (I.e. jump start, oil change, fluid filling) It is a bit of a pain but I enjoy not having the hood on when working on it.
For your generation, I believe you can go the 4 pin route or the 2 pin and stock hing setup. So consider that if you go the Ivan route.
The tundra conversion looks cool on 2nd gens, but it is alot of work to install.
Again you have to remove the whole hood for access. Custom mounts need to be fabbed and you need to get lights from a tundra (Not cheap).
Check out the trucks at protrux
This one has the tundra conversion up front and the fiberwerx rear glass.
This one has the tundra front clip and hanneman sides.
Hope that helps

For 1st gens, I like the look of mine the best. It is a hanneman Ivan kit. But remember you need to do the hood also.
Other options include
Hanneman's Tundra clip as seen above
Hanneman HF2002
and a Tacoma conversion (sorry no pics)
Glassworks has-
The glassworks version of the Ivan kit
Downey offers one style as well.
I like the glass kit I got for looks. It is abit of a pain if you need to remove it alot, but these are yotas and I don't find that I need to get in there very often.
Just remember glass never lines up perfectly. Mine will look better when it is painted, then any gaps won't be as noticable.

I really like this style:
It looks like a stock fender with a bigger opening and a flair on it.
Downey's price is the best so far, and I havent heard any complaints with their stuff.
So should I go with the downey's?
Thanks

Death, the picture you linked from glassworks is just a stock image. It's actually a ranger fender. We have their fenders on our 89 and they look great. Unlike the (non-Ivan style) Hanneman stlye, these keep the square wheel opening instead of going to round.
Here are some pics...

Sean- I thought that after I posted it. I hate that both these companies don't have photos for all thier products. Get on the ball, ya know.
I like the look of those fenders too.
Oh yeah, I've been meaning to ask....what's up with the hole in your hood. Is there gonna be a scoop there?

I know that I will have to do alot of firewall clearencing, but I dont care how that looks.
To match the width in the rear, Im thinking of going with Hilux Surf fender flairs. Just got to find them.
So do you guys think the Downey's are a good choice?
Thanks
