Where is the ECU on a 2004 Tacoma?

Where is the ECU on a 2004 Tacoma?
Anyone know where the ECU is on a 2004 Tacoma double cab 4x4? I need to know but I don't have one to check out. If it is like mine it would be behind the passinger side kick panel.
on my 2002 4runner it is behind the glove box....

As you pull it, BE CAREFUL of the yellow connector - that's for the airbag.
Whatcha' lookin' to do? It's always interesting to hear that someone's looking for the ECU.

your airbag will blow...not good when your face is 2" away from it...
disconnect the battery adn depress the brake pedal for 10 sec before doing this...

The brake pedal thing is something that has been mentioned in other threads. The thought nehind it is that there's some residual voltage left in the electrical system after the battery is disconnected, and activating the brake lights will drain that off.
Actually, there are a LOT of little circuits in a vehicle that will do that for you... the time keeper on a clock, the ECU, the keep-alive on the radio.
Disconnect the battery and you'll be fine.

According to the 2004 FSM diagrams, you remove (2) Phillips head screws to remove the glove compartment unit, (2) screws + (1) bolt to remove the Lower No. 2 finish panel, and (2) bolts to dismount the ECM.
