Wheel spacers and safari rack
Hello from a new member,
I have 2 questions:
Are wheel spacers safe to use and do they cause problems?
Anyone with the safari rack have any advice on brand, etc?
Does it cause a whistle from wind noise?
I am looking at the above 2 things for possible future mods. I am now specing out a Roger Brown BL (2inch) and still working on what type of suspension or spacer lift to do ( 2-3 inch).
thanks!

Wheel spacers as a solution to improperly backspaced rims IMO is putting a bandaid on a amputation, doesn't solve the problem.
Wheel spacers up front on my rig which has a 3" wider rear end solves the problem, although not really a big deal off-road, it is on-road, so I have 1.5" wheel spacers.
IMO, no need for them on a 3rd gen period.

There is a recent and on-running thread over on Pirate4x4.com about wheel spacers as well as a number of older posts on that topic. If not properly set up and cared for you can, as in one posters instance, discover what it is like to have your wheel go flying off while driving down the interstate.
The main thing seems to be to make sure your lugs are long enough to properly hold the spacer, use loctite, and FREQUENTLY check and retorque them; the life you save might be mine.
If you are just going for some change of stance, go with different backspacing.
