wheel shake, please help..
Hi,
I have wheel shake at highway speeds. My front tires are constantly wearing unusually. I have the SAWs upfront and a RB 2" BL. My truck has done this since I put on the new rims and tires and lift. I am running 16x8 wheels and 33" MT/Rs ( cant remember the metric equivalent). I hear about you all having a nice ride and I want that for myself as well. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Also, its a 98' and had 190,000 miles

i have had my alignment done at least 3 times over the past two years and it never helped. I also did the road force balancing...didn't help either. Perhaps I have a bad set of MT/R? What about worn bushings or something along that line? Im sad...
Also, if you were to rub the tire around it's circumference it would feel like a hill range. Treads are up then down ~~~ something like that.

if its evenly cupped, then you need to ratoate the tires.... im guessing the fronts are messed up and the rears are fine... you might want to repalce youre shocks as well

well rotating doesnt help. I rotated the back to the front a couple of months ago and the new fronts from the back then began to get "cupped" aslo. It shook even with the level rears being placed on the fronts. Replacing shocks doesnt sound like it would help either because it has done the shaking when the Saws were new as well. Thanks though...
(off topic: cute baby, congrats.. )

check the shake
hey, acid, what's up?
have you tried grabbing the tire & trying to shake it by pushing against the top of it & then pulling back on it in sequence to see if there is any play or a "clicking" sound??
my guess is that it's your ball joints going bad, possibly from some heavy cornering, & if not them, then your wheel bearings, although you should probally be able to hear them during driving.
shake it-check it & post what you find.

p.s. is thatr "acid burn" as in "hackers"?

But yea like he said we've eliminated the tires, try jacking up the front end and have a buddy rock the tire from top to bottom while you check for free play in the control arms. Next have him to rock it from left to right and check for free play in the tie rods.
