wheel bearing removal question

Hello haven't been here in a while but I have a quick question regarding the changing of my front wheel bearings. On the back side of the spindle( for lack of a better name) there is a nut type ring with 4 holes in it and I need to remove it but I've forgotten whether it's a right hand thread or a left hand thread and it doesn't say anything in my repair manual. I know it needs a special tool (which I have ) but I just can't remember the threads from the last time I did it. Thanks

It may help to reference what vehicle you are working on.
