hi ive been watching these forums for a while but never registered untill now.
but heres my question: should i get a truck or 4runner? im in collage so i need a dependable daily driver that gets good mileage but that i can also wheel on the weekends. now im not shure if im going to be hauling people or stuff more, but i dont like the looks of that but sag on the 4runners all the pickups ive seen seem about equal. can that be fixed? also im on a budget of about $5000 so im thinking around 90-95 somewherein there.

 

4runner... where are you located? I might be selling mine...

 

A pickup would probably be better. Gas milage would be better. Pickups are generally cheaper.

 

i saw a couple 96 tacos on ebay for around 5 gs v6s too

 

actually ive been leaning towards a pickup lately but i cant seem to find a decent one around where i live( potland, or)

 

dude get a runner you can haul more ladies that way, plus threse lots of room in the back for s... um gear.

 

Hey, an extra cab can haul just as many people as a runner......5! Just not comfortably.....lol. I can't really say which would be better......I love them both, and both have their advantages and disadvantages. I like my pickup, but then again, I don't need much seating capacity. Well.......occasionally there are four people in my truck. It's cozy.

 

I absolutely love my Runner. I've hung out with a lot of people that have trucks, but I'd rather have a 4Runner because the ample room in the back, provides lots of cargo room... yeah...cargo... Also, the side pockets in the back are great for holding cargo accessories. you get the idea. Also, the butt sag is very fixable by spring kits that are sold by a few businesses. On that list are Old Man Emu springs or Downey Heavy Duty Springs. To give you some help, we always take my 4Runner on road trips. The only problem with 5 people is without the upgraded spring kits it bottoms out occasionally on small bumps. My opinion is that the 4Runner is the better option, that's the result I came to, and I wanted a truck initially.

 

Get a 4runner. I sold my 89 Toy pickup just before College and I have been glad for it. I can drive my friends around, unload my stuff securrly when I comes time to move home for the summer, and do a little off roading. I got the 4baner for milage and I get about 17-24mpg compaired to about 15-18 in my V6 pickup. The rear sag can be fixed with a set of springs for about $200 plus shocks. there is some room for s.. um gear in the back of an extended taco... trust me, i dun it

 

Another vote for the runner. Not only is there ample cargo room, but your cargo will be protected from the elements as well as thieves. It's much more comfortable for back seat passengers. And when you need to, you can fit a mattress back there and sleep where ever you want, undetected and protected. Hey, I'm talking in rhyme. I wish I could do that all the time. Whoa!
