Clamp that holds the downpipe after the exhaust manifold to the bracket bolted to the clutch housing lost the bolt and slid down and rattles like hell. Only way to take it off is to bend it (yea, right), cut it (not enough room), or wait until I get my headers and custom exhaust (by the 14th) to take it off.

Need to finish rear carpet
Truck bed is a little rough (previous owner put in drop bed liner hiding wheel wells)
Truck bed rails have holes in them (what was I thinking with rail covers)
Plastic fastners need to be replaced on the door panels

Engine is great
Transmission is great
Hell, its all good. Should be consider the over $3,000 last year.
Wish my ex-girlfriends could had been so dependable. They were far more expensive (argh).

Cracked inner CV boot.
Tiny rust spots everywhere.
Throwout bearing is chirping.
New rattle just appeared in the tailgate.
Burnt out passenger headlight. (I have the hood popped right now to replace it, figured I'd stop in here first)

Other than those minor things, she purrs like a kitten still. All my fluids are clean, and she just had all her belts replaced.

My List...

1. Leaking transmission.
2. Power antenna works, but no antenna.
3. Rear end leaks oil and hums like crazy.
4. Brakes are squishy.
5. My tires are too small for my new lift.
6. My speedometer broke yesterday.
(now it seems I go 0 mph all the time)
All fixable. I love my Yota.
It's a love hate relationship though.

Oh yeah, I just had to put a new engine in.

-There's this loud noise under my hood from this big black thing I installed recently
-My gas mileage has plummeted due to accelerating more than necessary
-Sometimes I take longcuts so that I can be in the car longer which occasionally makes me tardy to my appointements
-The tread on my back two tires has "abnormal wear"

Other than those "problems"...I'd say i'm fairly happy with my rig

I figured I'd update.

The 4runner now will not idle, blows smoke, and barely runs.

So we can add that to my list of problems that she already has.

EDIT: See my other post here for more info.

Cold start injector (CSI) probably isn't the problem. Just the timing and tempreture circuit to the CSI has "fouled up". If it was a blow-by problem you would see an decrease in cylinder compression and increase of gas in your fuel from cold starts (or attempts).

I'm hoping that's not the problem. (fingers crossed)

Isn't blow-by a gradual thing too?

Blow-by happens more during cold starts but, it could much worse depending on variables like ring to cylinder wall tolerances. It doesn't necessary need to occur a slow but steady decline. We are lucky Toyota owners because Toyota uses more nickel in their blocks. This results in well formed assemblies. Unlike most demostics and euro car makers.

A simple cylinder compression and leak test would high light any blow-by or valve seating issues.

I have more to add.

My truck doesn't start. I was in Santee picking up a bumper from Marc P, and my truck decided not to start. It still won't. And I won't have time until the weekend to do anything with it. Also, the bumper I got was built on a truck with a body lift, so I need a body lift before I can put it on. That doesn't bother me, though.

Exclamation

1. vanishing oil.. (500mL in about 2 days) and inconsistant pressure... nothing in the coolant, no leaks, no blue smoke, no freaking clue...?

2. needs a new clutch
3. rear lock doesnt work (have to use the console button for the window)
4. rear defroster sometimes works
5. rear wiper lazy as me
6. all windows but driver's take forever to go down (not that big of a deal)
7. climate control light STILL out
8. broken front passenger sway bar link (my fault)
9. rear end sagging
10. spedo is noisy as hell in -40 weather when it goes above 50km/h
11. loud chirping (much like a fan belt, but not the fan belt) think its the water pump..?
12. ticking noise from the engine
13. the never ending battle with rust..
14. 3.slow... seems like it gets weaker everyday (290k)
15. tons of other miscelaneous stuff that really doesn't bother me

there is never enough money to keep up with it all... still, wouldn't trade it for anything
