What is this wire for?

I'ts on a 2001 5VZFE, I got the intake off to put the supercharger on and there is this little short wire:

I'm wondering if it is a knock sensor wire, because I remember on the 3.0 it was a good idea to replace it anytime you did the headgaskets.

That's the ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor wire.
Knock sensors are under the lower intake plenum.

Yes it was connected to the engine harness near the where the fuel injector plugs are. I know how to hook it back up, but I'm wondering if it is a knock sensor wire and should be replaced. The fact that it is only about 4 inches long and has plugs at both ends makes me suspect it is meant to be replaced like the knock sensor wires on the 3.0?

Oh thanks Jamie, anyone replacing these or will they last a long time?

I'd leave it, but you can take it out and test it in a pot of hot water and measure the resistance (from the terminal to the body of the sensor) if you are concerned about it. The sensor should be fairly linear in resistance change vs water temp.
