What tires should I go with?
Time to replace the stockers on my 2001 4Runner. Wondering what would be a good replacement tire for the upcoming ski season. Sometimes I am driving in 16" of snow. Want to keep the peacefullness of the 4runner. No crazy road noise.
thanks

As far as tires, there are a lot of good choices out there. I currently have Bridgestone Dueler AT's in 265/70/16 and really like them alot. I have only had my truck since this summer, so I can't really say how they perform in the snow yet. I am really happy with their performance so far, on-road, off-road, dry and wet conditions, I like them alot. Toyo also makes a good AT tire, but I don't know the model name. Probably the most popular tire around here is the BFG All Terrain. Many forum members have them and swear by them.
That's my $.02. Good Luck!

I agree with Ryan,
I've run Bridgestone ATs and HTs and have had a cheap set of sidewinders (mich atx knock offs). I have a set of BFG AT KOs on now, they have a real aggessive tread very good wet and snow traction(tirerack) and are very quit for an AT tire(personal exp.) a friend put a set on his GMC truck and commented to me that they handled better and were quiter then his goodyear all season passenger tires. A guy at work has a set on his explorer with 60k on the tires and they look almost new. He drives 120 miles round trip to work all interstate at 65-70 MPH, he said weather(rain/sleet/snow) is not a factor with the BFG tires. Cost wise I paid $111.00 Mounted and balanced 31x10.5x15 on sale.
Goodluck
