What shocks do you run?
I have stock suspension, and don't really plan on lifting except for maybe some 99 springs. What shocks do you all run, and price. I'm lookin to get the most bang for the buck. thanks

I also forgot to ask. If i replace my shocks is it necessary to replace my struts as well? And I assume that replacing the shocks is a fairly straight foward install?

Everyone gives me ☺☺☺☺ but I run munroe reflex's up front and munroe gas magnums in the back... LOVE it! Got the whole setup for around 160 brand new (lifetime warranty) and they ride great!

I run Skyjacker nitros and I will never buy them again. I bought the truck almost two years ago and it still had originals on there at 172k miles. I swapped them out to the Skyjackers and literally could tell NO difference in the ride. It's still rough as hell and you feel EVERY SINGLE PEBBLE you run over.
From what I have read on here I will switch to OME's when the time comes.

how are they compared to stock ones?? also how are they on the highway and offroad?? sharp curves?? any bad sway?

I had the heavy duty bilsteins installed for years with the factory coils. Made it about 1/2 inch higher and a little stiffer. I now have TRD Tokico Blue shocks paired with Tundra TRD coils up front, and OME 890 coils paired with Trekmaster shocks in the rear. Gives me 2" in front and 2.5" in rear. Looks like it should. It's the Sonoran Steel system 7. Would never go back.

The ride on the monroes is stout as stated above, but reduces sway in corners somewhat too which helped a lot. The rear are perfect with the LC coils and makes it almost a stock feel in the rear and flexes better than any truck i have seen!! Ill take some pictures soon!

Stock. I'm gonna start saving for shocks soon....I'm leaning towards Bilisteins or OME, I need something that will hold up to the bull bar up front and eventually winch. As well as something a little longer in the rear, as my add a leaf has the stock ones stretched a bit.

x2...dude my Runner looks kinda like yours, and I just took some pics of the monster flex, it's posted under trail reports---sorry to hi-jack. I believe you can still use stock shocks up to 2.5 lift and they're proven on the road ride and offroad capability.

Just had the Bilsteins put on my 2000 on Thursday...seems like they lifted it just a tad. Man what a difference in the ride...I have a radial pull right now, need to take it to discount tire to have this checked out.
Love the Bilsteins so far!!!
