Hello all, just had dealership change oil sending unit on my 98 4Runner Limited because oil light turning on.
They said oil pressure was: 8.1psi at idle-----normal
20-30 at 3000rpm--- below normal according to them it should be at 43minimum, is that true? and if so what could be causes?

I know this thread is super old, but does anyone know what the stock oil pressure is for a 5vzfe?

We have a 99 5VZFE that was doing the same thing 2 weeks ago. I hooked a manual gauge up to it and was getting 15-20 PSI while driving. It would then drop to ZERO. I tried the engine flush, found at you local auto place, which helped some. When I drained the oil after the flush was added, I found small bits of sludge. Took a wire with a small 90deg bend and inserted it into the oil pan and managed to find the problem....more sludge. Removed the front diff so I could remove the oil pan and inspect further. Cleaned everything up and put her back together...all is good now. Hope this helps.

Sooooo, what is the factory oil pressure again?

Edit: Never mind. I downloaded the factory service manual. The answer is 4.5psi or greater at idle and 36-75psi at 3000rpm. Hopefully this helps someone in the future.
